The battle for the toy sector
Target, Walmart, and Amazon are competing fiercely for their share of the toy market since Toys 'R' Us shuttered its doors. Target has added over 10,000 new and exclusive toys to its in-store and online selection this year as well as launching Disney Store at Target, a store-within-a-store format featuring everything Disney.
Christina Hennington, senior vice president, merchandising, stated:
“In 2018, we made strategic investments to position Target as the ultimate destination for toys, including an expanded assortment and playful, reimagined in-store and digital experiences. This year, we’re building on that success.”
How do you think Target's toy list compares to Walmart's and Amazon's lists? Do you think Walmart's picks hold more weight than Target and Amazon since they were based on actual kid testing? What toys are on your child's wish list? Did their favorites make any of the lists? We'd love to hear from you! Email us: inquiries@ripcordbrands.com or give us a call: (303) 536-5505.
