Have you ever taken a rideshare to the airport and realized that you forgot your headphones or skipped dinner because you were in a rush? Well now there's help from Cargo. Cargo boxes are basically mini vending machines where you can buy snacks, drinks, small electronics and even beauty products. It also has 2 USB ports if you need to charge your phone. Some items don't cost anything as brands provide Cargo with free products so they can get them into the hands of customers.
How does it work?
Riders enter the unique code from the box into the Cargo mobile website or app and it will pull up the driver’s inventory on their phone. Once the purchase is completed (through Apple Pay or Venmo), a text is sent to the driver with the list of anything purchased and the driver can retrieve the item(s) and hand them to the rider (when it is safe to do so).
Cargo recently announced an exclusive global partnership with Uber. If you order from Cargo while taking an Uber, you'll earn 10% of the purchase price in Uber Voucher Credits. The driver also benefits, earning a percentage of the total purchase price. Even better, it costs nothing for drivers to have a Cargo box - no cost for products or the box itself. Cargo even keeps track of the inventory and sends automatic replenishments. P.S. - If your next Uber doesn't have a Cargo box, you can earn $15 in Uber Voucher Credit for referring the driver.
So hopefully next time you find yourself falling asleep on your way to a business meeting, your Uber is equipped with a Cargo box stocked with an energy shot or Red Bull. And maybe some breath mints.
Cargo is available the U.S. in New York, NY; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Washington, D.C./Baltimore, MD; Atlanta, GA; Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Miami, FL; and internationally in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
